Residential Fee

Complete Architectural Residential Fee Requirements

The typical architectural fee for full services may be based on a percentage cost of construction. Factors that affect the fees include the scope of the project, site and topographical conditions, regulatory requirements, program requirements, architectural style, foundation and roof geometry, future finished spaces, the level of quality, detail, and economic conditions. For a comprehensive description of service definition, refer to Architectural Services, section, 1.5 Basic Architectural Services.

The fee is usually a relatively small part of the cost of the entire building project, including the actual construction cost (on which the fee is computed). The fee, which is a one-time expense, is actually less than 3% of the cost of the home over a twenty-five year period, not counting maintenance costs, which would reduce the percentage even more.
